Types of solar heating systems
The solar heating systems are mainly of two types-the closed loop and the open type.
The closed loop type of heating devices utilizes heat exchangers. These are mainly used to protect the system from hard water that may be obtained from bore wells and also from the freezing cold temperatures in cod areas.
The open loop type or thermosyphon systems are simple and they have direct contact between water and the atmosphere in at least one point. Owing to their simple design, the open loop is cheaper than the former and better suited for domestic purposes.
These are gaining in popularity and not too far behind are solar lighting systems.
